I hate this ending so much, and not in a "it's bittersweet moment and even tho not everyone got a happy ending you can see the light" but instead no one got a happy ending. It was such an upbeat show with messages like "never give up, believe in yourself and your friends, overcome everything at all odds" but in the end the lesson we get from this whole thing is: "don't be a fucking hero or you'll end up A: like Kamina, Nia or Kittan and straight up die and later get your legacy be spitted on by the people and statues destroyed, B: like Yoko and never find love, get your crush and friend killed by kissing them or C: like Simon and loose your friends and love of your life and spend the rest of your life in relative obscurity". Instead be like Rossiu - a fucking idiot, betray your friend, sentence 80% of people to die on purpose and the rest 20% because of your stupidity(anti spirals can drop a moon on the planet but they will never have a plan for a spaceship, yea, right, what a moron) and then when it will become apparent that you are indeed a fucking idiot try to kill yourself and then you will get the girl you love and can become president of the planet. Nia's death is so unnecessary and ruins the whole ending, if atleast Simon and Nia got a happy ending you can do a bittersweet ending with sacrifices made (like almost all the original gunmen crew and Kittan died, Lorgenome got kinda redeemed and died anyway and the bit of uneasiness of possible apocalypse from all the spiral races) but instead we get soul crushing ending where no one's happy except some background characters, a biggest idiot on the planet and all the useless people who did nothing but complain about their broken houses
