Hi Stefy. I watched this show a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed it. This was based on a novel from 2008. There was also a manga adaption in 2012. I've been watching your reaction to it and I can sense your frustration. The world building can be confusing, but the story will get easier to follow and become more straightforward after the world building of the first few episodes. I think the payoff at the end will be worth it. And it doesn't have a complicated and confusing ending like Evangelion did. One tip: pay attention to everything. There will be many things happening and things will be said that will seem unimportant, but will matter a great deal in later episodes. There is A LOT of foreshadowing. Now some clarifications, as of episode 3: 1. Cantus is the name they give to Psychokinesis, also known as Telekinesis or PK. It is NOT magic. Humans are born without Cantus, but develop it as they get older, as Saki did in episode 1. Saki is 12 years old. 2. The beginning of episode 1 is our present time where we live. When the show refers to 500 years later or 1,000 years later, it's referring back to the beginning of episode 1. The show also takes place 1,000 years after the beginning of episode 1. Hope this helps.

Manga for this is something alright:D and I definitely did not check certain scenes for science. Also it might be the first anime I've seen that based on an actual novel rather than manga or light novel. The world building for this show is a bit confusing at the start but eventually it becomes one of the greatest I've seen in any media
