I thought the same thing about why aren't they flying dragons everywhere they go but i think the answer is ... the dragons have to be housed, fed, etc. while on the ground. Only places with a dragon pit & dragon handlers can host the dragons.

About why they don't ride dragons everywhere, Daemon does it because he doesn't really care for the rules. If Rhaenyra were to do it, she can only bring one another person (first episode she says it has a capacity for two people). That leaves her with few protectors and very susceptible to being harmed when landing. Its why in the first episode you see her coming back from a leisure ride on a dragon to a specific area where her kingsguard protector can escort her back to the palace. As for the King, I think the reason why he can't ride a dragon is because the dragon he owned as a kid died. In the books its kind of vague and I don't know how they'll approach this in the show, but basically each dragonrider seems to only get to be "linked" to one dragon to be with for the rest of their life. So far in both GOT and HOTD, characters have basically confirmed this theory. Daenerys rode the same dragon, Night King rode the same dragon, Jon Snow rode the same dragon. And now we see Rhaenyra, Daemon and Laenor being the same way. So the King got unlucky with having a dragon at the end of its years in his youth, compared to Rhaenyra who has grown up with her dragon from an egg to what it is now.

To help with family trees.. as the show is very subtle about who is related to who and how. The Hands name is Lyonel Strong, Lord of Harrenhal. His two sons we are introduced properly to here are Harwin Strong and Larys Strong. Harwin we have seen briefly when he met Rhaenyra on the way back from the brothel and was the one to go in and grab her in the wedding. He's the strongest knight in the 7 kingdoms at the moment... 'The Mountain' of this era. His brother, Larys, was the one with the cane talking to the queen in the garden. There is going to be a large time jump fairly soon.. as theyve announced casting for Ageon, Alicents heir and he aint a toddler 😅 only saying this to say that Milly and Emily have been brilliant in their roles and imo whether this show survives or not will be determined by how the cast taking over continue the work done for them.

The intro is the Targaryen bloodline and has only changed once but it was a very subtle change, the last symbol near the end of the intro we see pop up and blood run through it is Rhaenyra’s necklace to signify her reign, the blood flows down from 2 symbols mixing together for her parents, one being Viserys crown and the other her mother. The only change they have put is you see blood split off from Viserys crown off screen to the left to signify he remarried and had Aegon with Alicent. I bet next week or the week after we’ll see where the blood goes off screen and show it mixing with blood from a Hightower symbol down to Aegons symbol. We’ll probably get Laenor’s symbol next to Rhaenyra’s as well as blood from them going down to their children.
