I thought you guys deserve you know some of the characterizations for Peter and Ellie; it's still a work in progress.
As you already know, it's a slow-burn romance comic. with some angst. maybeeee a lot of angst? but we'll see; drawing out the execution is hard sometimes

Gabrielle (Ellie) is a 15/16-year-old high school student unwilling to open up to people due to her past traumas with bullying, no one noticting her, and the recent passing of her father (he passed away when she was 14). She sees herself as an invisible, unwanted person. She manages to find solitude in being alone, even when she's with her mom and sister. And she has bad social anxiety too obvi + overthinks everything 

Peter is a 16-year-old over-achieving student, popular among many students, athletic, and extraverted. He's afraid he doesn't have a real personality, so he puts his self-worth in school and being in relationships. His lack of self-identity leads him to be intensely attached to a person when dating; that's when he feels some security. He can be impulsive in escaping pain- trying to occupy himself with any activity to not feel it. (That's why he's dating and later sleeping around with so many ppl ahem-) He's also trying to get over his trauma from his grandfather and constantly compares himself to him, leading Peter to be more lost with his identity. (I'll get into his trauma in a diff post)

Peter doesn't like Ellie at first, he thinks she's annoying for never answering his questions and for being so silent. He reluctantly becomes her "friend" out of sheer pity, as his group of friends invites Ellie to be with them. Ellie on the other hand, thinks she's invited as a joke, but eventually warms up to them. She considers Peter as her first friend, as he was the first person who approched and spoke to her. He helps her gain confidence in herself- tho he was pretty impatient with her at first. They start to become genuine friends and while Peter sees Ellie as a friend, Ellie develop feelings for him, a feeling only to get bigger.
