Red Kraken and More Update! (Patreon)

Our members-only Red Kraken episode with Radio Westeros has been very much growing in the telling. It is now going to be TWO episodes.

The first will be slightly delayed due to the split but the recording will take place this month.

The first will be mostly as planned, focusing on the Red Kraken's rise and the major changes across the Isles that had been taking place ever since Aegon's Conquest a mere century before. It was perhaps the most unique time in the Isles' history. For 100 years, reaving was banned except in far away lands. So the reavers of this era were a tougher sort, having to sail halfway across the world to do their dirty deeds.

Part one's conclusion will coincide with the end of the Dance, though the war between the Rock and the Isles will not stop in concert with the dancing.

The second will be less about the Red Kraken, though he will still be a central focus, and more about Johanna Lannister nee Westerling, one of the first Winter's Widows. There's a huge amount of story surrounding these two characters and the supporting cast. For example, Johanna's father was one of the famous 7 Regents of Aegon III, and the Hand of the King was Tyland Lannister, the "Hooded Hand" who was twin brother to Johanna's late husband Lord Jason.

Johanna was the first one to accept the proposed peace between the Blacks and Greens, but only on the condition that the Throne get the damn Ironborn out of the West. She also dons armor and leads her soldiers into battle, in particular trying to re-take the lands Dalton had conquered, and later seeks revenge on the Isles directly.

Meanwhile, Dalton's successes were such that over in the Red Keep they were considering giving him a seat on the Small Council (again) and/or marrying him to Baela Targaryen rather than fighting him, because they weren't confident that they could beat him... Lady Johanna was not about to give in, however.
