Hi, looking forward to the stream tomorrow. Who do you think are Doran’s informers at court? The quote re: hardhome “ghouls and demons and burning ghosts with an unhealthy taste for blood” reminds me of how people speak about wildlings. Is this prejudice against the unknown that is created by ignorance and fear? This reread of the Tyrion chapter highlighted the dog/pig comparisons as a metaphor for gender to me. You really do find something different every time you read.

This whole business about Gregor's skull makes me immediately go to my question for you guys. What do you think will come of the Umbers discovering they Don't have Mance's skull in their possession? Does Stannis even know he flat out played them or was this only Mel. Maybe it's too early to ask since I think of Stannis's "This is how I deal with betrayal" , which is what he told the Karstarks when he arrested them. Any Umbers in his camp at the time may be dissuaded from ever turning on Stannis , given his demonstration on the Karstarks.
