The maesters at the Citadel knew about Sam's father and brother being killed, but Sam left before they could tell him. How/When do you think Sam is going to find out? Is it likely Sam will become the Lord of Horn Hill?

Do you think it was a mistake to title the episode "Eastwatch"? To me (and maybe others) it conjured ideas of that being a site of action, much like "Hardhome". Given the action shots in the trailer were clearly north of the wall, it gave the impression that this would be the episode for that action. I thought the episode itself was great, but a different title would have brought different expectations for a plot driven episode as opposed to av action one.

History of Westeros

I would agree, they come together at Eastwatch, but so very little of the episode takes place there, and so many of the plotlines didn't have anything to do with it.
