Alltight, I haven't been updating as frequently as before.

There are reasons for that:
First is that I've already created most of the stuff and did most of the designs that I need on the current stage.
The second is that I was sweating  h a r d, man. Those commisions ain't gonna do themselves...

Anyway, now I'm at the point where I need to actually create new stuff to move further. New characters, location designs and concepts.

So, let's take a look.

New characters

Mai will get a new sidekick.

I'm afraid the last one's marketologist career is... TORN TO SHREDS

Sorry...

I've been musing on the idea of the cultist's high aprentice or something like that.
This is my first attempt at her design and it sucks:

This is the first design that I've made. Looks weak, but the ideas are nice. The hood, sneakers and the socks are giving the whole design a wacky modern-fantasy touch.

Looks crappy, though. I can do better than that.

That's better! I especially like the little bags and pouches. Who knows what secret herbs she carries? (Maybe that's just weed, actually)

For those who wonder - Cultists of Thorns are so  A S C E N D E D  they don't even need their eyes. That's why they wear blindfolds.

This is a more detailed render featured in the upcoming pinup:

Paramilitary team design

Stuff is getting hot this time. I mean, really hot. Blazing hot.

This is where our brave SWAT guys come into play.

They come in all shapes and forms, wearing somewhat modern gear and weilding all kinds of firearms and other supplies.

Enviroment

Even though the rest of the comic will be underground (and that's good, because it's much easier to build suspense in enclosed areas) it has more variety the deeper Mai goes.

I've designed various cult shrines, underground fallout shelters and the sewers.

Everybody love sewers, right?

Here's the arch element modelled (very roughly) to aid me with drawing this stuff.

It's crappy, but it does what it needs to.

Also, here's an unfinished 3D model of Mai's face. Just because.
