Hi all!

Before I start planning your wedding, I'm doing one more update that isn't properly part of the 0.5 release. For this, I thought I'd have a go at an often-requested feature: contraception failure and sabotage.

The basic idea there will be that men with the Impregnator trait (and only them) might deliberately sabotage the player's contraception. There'll also be a chance for condoms to break naturally.

For players who want to avoid pregnancy content, there'll be a new trait (probably named "Infertile" or something) which will 100% guarantee that you won't get pregnant unless you override it by getting a fertility treatment at the doctor.


Here are some notes I made for myself on the changes to make - although it's still very early so these might well change as development proceeds:


CONDOM BREAKAGE:

Condom has 3 states: normal, damaged, broken.

Impregnator can sabotage condoms during makeout, which sets it to damaged. PC can't sabotage in this release (later, with Baby Crazy trait)

Give PC a chance to notice sabotage damage during MO with some actions, but rare to notice (with perceptive trait only?)

During sex, have (very low) chance it becomes damaged each turn based on pace. If damaged a (much higher) chance it breaks also based on pace. This means there will be a possibility that a broken condom is just bad luck instead of due to sabotage. A sabotaged condom becomes damaged, so it won't be broken immediately when sex starts and there's a chance it won't break at all - although this will be unusual unless the intercourse was very quick.

Bad luck condom breakage should be extremely rare - possibly averaging less than once per full 52-week game. It's mainly there to case a small element of doubt on whether it was the NPC's doing.

PC might notice the condom break during sex. Perhaps increased chance with the Sensitive Pussy trait.

If PC notices breaking inside her, lead to options like "replace the condom", "keep going", "ask to pull out" etc.

Perhaps add the option for the pc to put a condom on the man? Poss as exit option for the oralscene?

Mutation trait for the pc that significantly increases damage chances from non-sabotage sex

Vary text in scene based on KNOWN breakage. Unknown breakage should be identical to an intact condom until orgasm.

New orgasm NPC actions for both known and unknown breakage for all sex scenes.


PILL SABOTAGE:

Add infertile trait, which is overridden with fertility treatments. THis give players who want to avoid pregnancy condom a 100% effective way of avoiding it.

NPC can sabotage pill (Impregnator only). This will only be available in her apartment and prob only if an action would give him time to do so (e.g. if he has a moment alone while the PC cooks). Also in next morning scene if the PC is e.g. showering. This would disable the pill's effect for that week, similar to how the forgetful trait works

PC would have a chance of catching him e.g. replacing her pill with a breath mint - I don't know how someone would actually sabotage the pill IRL but I think it's fine not to have an entirely realistic method here. Perhaps in the future contraceptive pills look the same as breath mints due to NHS budget cuts.

This could also give a clue in next morning scene e.g. "you kiss him and he responds, enjoying the minty-fresh taste of your mouth".

Catching the NPC can lead to breakup, kicking him out etc. -ve relationship values based on traits (less for low-self-esteem. Perhaps also maternal.). This would also undo the pill sabotage as the PC makes sure she takes a proper one.
