Q&A with Matt #1 (Patreon)

Hi and welcome to my first Q&A. Thank you to those of you who sent me some questions. As you can tell, I love talking about me, so I appreciate you feeding my narcissism!! Kidding (mostly), I'm just happy to be able to answer and give you a bit more insight into myself and my writing.

There will be more Q&As in the future, not sure when though, but if you think of any other questions you'd like answered, stick them in the comments section or message me directly and I'll includ ethem next time. And now, on we go...

Q1. How did you get into writing erotic fiction? Did you do it for your own enjoyment first before going public?

I always loved writing. I remember sitting on my (don’t judge me for being old) typewriter when I was a kid and writing plays for me and my brother/cousins to perform. My love of writing only grew as I got older, but sex didn’t really come into my stories until I was in my late teens. It was purely for my own enjoyment and mainly based around my own experiences and how I thought they would play out if the fantasies I was having about the guys around me actually came true.

Showing my age again, but the internet wasn’t really a thing until I was around 18/19, so I never really had access to other like-minded people, so it never really crossed my mind to let other people see my work. It wasn’t until January 2011 that I decided to go public. I had just written the first chapter of Possession, based on a particularly persistent fantasy of mine, and had recently stumbled across Nifty, so I took a shot and posted it.

Q2. This might be too personal - but would you let us know your age?

There’s a good chance you may have figured my age from the previous question, but if not, I turned 40 this year. Sadly there was no big celebration thanks to Covid, so I spent the day writing instead, which was very fun.

Q3. Are some elements in your stories based on personal experiences or is everything 100% fictional?

I’d say my writing is definitely a mix of both experience and fiction (aside from the two ‘true stories’ I’ve posted). It’s rare that I will take an exact event from my life and slot it into a story, but there have definitely been moments that were very heavily influenced by things I did myself. However, as much fun as my sex life has been, it can’t compare to most of my stories, so making it too ‘true to life’ would likely end up in some pretty dule tales!

Something I tend to do more often than I realised is using real people in my stories. Obviously I put a lot of myself into my characters. Benny from the Benny Saga is totally inspired by myself, but I tend to avoid putting myself in too much, simply because it feels incredibly narcissistic. But a few others include: Zane from ‘Benny’s House’ who was based on a friend/sub I had at the time, Phil from ‘Phil’s Naked Adventures’ who was based on a guy I knew who did occasional tasks/challenges for me, Adrian from ‘Tales from Kingswood’ and Charlie from ‘Benny’s House’, both of whom were inspired by porn stars I was into at the time. There are others, but I can’t think of them now, but it can be very fun to put someone into a story.

Q4. Since a lot of your stories are quite kinky - what would you say are your top 3 kinks / fetishes?

I reckon most of you could probably pick these out based on how often they show up in my stories anyway, but my personal top 3 are:

1. Public/outdoor nudity

2. Cum control/chastity

3. Humiliation/embarrassment

The full list of kinks is quite extensive. I usually say it’s easier to list the things I don’t like! 😊

Q5. Do you read other stories on Nifty? If so, what are some of your favorites?

I do read stories on Nifty, but not as often as I would like. This is because to me a story on Nifty requires three important things – 1. A good/engaging storyline, 2. being well written from a spelling, grammar and punctuation perspective and 3. Regular updates/actually getting completed. The reason I don’t read too often is because it is so exceptionally rare to get all three of these things in one story. It’s so frustrating when a writer has an amazing idea, but is then let down by writing it so poorly and failing to use paragraphs, speech marks etc. Similarly, when you find one that’s engaging AND well-written, but it just stops half-way through… aaargh!

I know I have one unfinished story (Possession) but I like to think I manage all three of these things. It’s why I so highly value others who did it when I find them. And now, onto some favourites:

J.Forrester – I cannot recommend these stories enough, they share a lot of themes as my stories, with nudity and humiliation playing a key role. He is an amazing writer and actually finishes his stories! He also happens to be a close personal friend and, if I get my way, my eventual husband! But that aside, seriously, read his stuff. ‘A Series of Embarrassing Events’ is my favourite, and a sequel is on the way, but I also adore ‘School Exhibitionism’ and ‘The Symposium’.

The Downfall of Nate Ramsey – This is the story that inspired me to write ‘Jack Hamilton’. As you can guess, that means there are probably many similarities between the two, so if you liked Jack Hamilton, you’ll like this. The author, Jasper (Jax) Cooper is also a really great guy.

The Fallout of Jack Hamilton – I’ve mentioned this in a recent post, but it’s a story that fills in the time gap at the conclusion of Jack Hamilton. Still ongoing and worth reading if you enjoyed Jack Hamilton.

Schoolie – This is an absolutely charming story that I read a few years back when it was first posted. This version is a rewrite of the original. It is about a teacher in a small town in the Australian outback. Honestly, I don’t remember a huge amount of the specifics, or even much of the sex, but I know it was totally engaging and I loved reading it.

The stories below fit into the ‘really enjoyable but unifinished’ category, so only read if you’re okay with not having a conclusion

Swim Class Speedos – Danny has to wear speedos for swim class, but he’s got a ‘big’ problem – his butt. Thankfully, his friend Matt has some ideas to help… or at least he says it’s to help. Includes themes of manipulation and control.

Cousins Take Charge – Thanks to a bet gone wrong, Ben ends up at the mercy of his two younger cousins, Rick and Rad. The story follows what happens when Ben falls under the control of the two mischievous boys. This story MIGHT be getting finished, it had a new chapter a couple of months back, but it’s going in a very different direction?! Either way, it’s fun.

My Boyfriend’s Little Brother – When the pandemic strikes and Jack moves in with his boyfriend’s family, he makes an unexpected new friend. Some very erotic scenes.

Game of Chance – Nate ends up blackmailed by the neighbour kids and endures several humiliations in an attempt to escape their control.

That’s all I can think of for now, but my memory sucks. If you have any recommendations, stick it in the comments. Also, a request on behalf of all online authors – If you enjoy a story, consider sending a quick message to say so. Often we have no clue if anyone has even read our work, let alone enjoyed it. Believe me when I say it is genuinely appreciated and valued.

Q6. What option did you provide in some of the stories that were voted on by viewers (Jake's Exposure, etc.) did you wish you could have written but never got the chance to?

My ‘interactive’ stories were always intended to be a bit of a pressure-relieving exercise for me. The idea was that I had something where I couldn’t plan ahead, or overthink story ideas as I never knew what was coming next. I always had to wait for the votes to be in, then quickly write the next part. Writing that way meant I never really gave a great deal of thought to the various options.

That said, there were times I was a little surprised, such as:

• The first part of Brian’s Big Mistake. I offered the choice of how hard Master Matt should be on Brian – Easy, Moderate, Hard or Extreme. I was expecting maybe moderate or hard, as most readers seem fairly kind, even with fictional characters. Yet the vote came in almost unanimously as ‘Extreme’. That was definitely a surprise and really shaped the story
• The first part of Jake’s Exposure – The options for his first task were a naked drive, cumming hand free or sending chastity keys to Master Matt. Part of me was hoping readers would choose the chastity keys as I had some fun thoughts on how he would earn them back, but the viewers chose the naked drive.
• Jake’s Exposure part 5 – Another choice of tasks, either naked outdoor dildo riding, 48 hours naked or taking naked pictures with fully dressed strangers. The CMNM fan in me wanted option 3, but fans chose the 48 hours naked. I put this option back in later and it got chosen – yay!
• Phil’s Naked Adventure Part 1 – First task was either a naked journey home, nudity at the mall or or naked roadside exposure. The mall was the one I had expected readers to pick, so I was surprised when they chose the journey home. Turns out I’m glad they did as it led to some things that really made the story what it was.
• Phil’s Naked Adventures, Part 2 – He had the choice to either investigate some voices, divert to an easier, safer route or just keep going. Readers chose to investigate the voices. Not surprising. It would have piqued my curiosity too. Had they picked the easy route, Phil would have bumped into some people he knew and been very embarrassed. Had they picked to keep going, Phil would have still ended up finding out who the voices were, but after bumping into a group of teens who would tease and humiliate him. That would have been fun.
• Phil’s Naked Adventures, Part 4 – The option here really affected a lot, as Phil was deciding what ‘task’ to do, and each task was at a different location, with a different character. Any other choice would have really affected the outcome of the whole story. I was hoping the option chosen would be ‘Ejaculation’ as the task would have involved him being restrained and subjected to multiple orgasms and post-orgasm torture.

I will definitely do more interactive stories one day. They’re just too enjoyable. Perhaps if/when I have a few more patrons, I could make it a patreon-exclusive thing. Would be nice to have a story that exists FOR my patrons and influenced by them exclusively.

Q7. You know that Jake's Exposure is one of my favourite stories. Would you like to make a guy do all these naked things in reality? Or did you do so? How far would you go with a willing guy who has no limits?

On one hand, yes, I would absolutely and totally love to have a guy that much under my control… and that is an option I have had as I have known some VERY willing subs. However, I am also somewhat of a realist, so I know the actual risks of doing some of the tasks and challenges set out in my stories. Pushing a sub to their limits is great – getting them arrested is not!

So I suppose what I’m saying is that I would push a guy as far as he was willing to go… so long as it was safe to do so! And to be clear, I mean safe from both a physical AND mental perspective. The more time I spend dealing with subs, the more I find many of their desires are quite destructive and often either a sign of, or result of, mental health issues or past trauma. I know worrying about a subs mental wellbeing may look ‘soft’ to come, but wellbeing will always be a priority for me.

Q8. Have YOU ever been exposed naked in public?

Naked in public? Yes, many times. ‘Exposed’ naked in public… no. Just as I am when giving others orders, when I do things myself I am inordinately careful to avoid getting caught. The risk is a thrill, but trying to explain to the police why you’re naked, two miles from your clothes and sporting an erection is not as fun as it sounds! I also happen to not be amazing to look at naked, so that makes me a bit less to show it off, so my public nudity is primarily for my own enjoyment.

Q9. Which of your stories is your favourite and why?

Oof, that’s mean. It’s like asking a parent to pick a favourite child (which they all have, no matter what they say!)

Obviously I love all my stories and every one of them has parts that makes them hold a unique place in my heart, but if I absolutely had to pick one, I would say it’s The Benny Saga (or a single story from it, The Dangers of Desire). Benny Takes Control was my first ‘complete’ story, which was a big achievement and was also just a very fun story to write, but The Dangers of Desire was my first sequel. It was the first time I was able to take characters I had already establish and really move on to tell more of their lives.

The characters involved, primarily the McKenzie brothers Josh, Nick and Corey along with the Spencer boys, Dale and Warren, are some of the most enjoyable characters I have ever created. I felt connected to them in a way I had not felt before and have rarely felt since. These characters are still very much alive in my head and I am 100% certain they will get another sequel someday, if only to see how they have grown up. As all people are just the sum of their past experiences, writing characters where I have written so much of their youth, it intrigues me to see how it affects them in adulthood.

Important note, this answer may well be changing soon. The Kingswood Saga is not only my most ambitious project so far (seven books plus extras!!) it’s also home to some wonderful characters and storylines. At the time of writing this, I’m near the end of book two and they’re already competing with Josh et al for my affections. Pretty sure that by the end of Book 3 they’re going to be my new favourite.

Q10. How much of your time goes on writing?

Hmm, hard to say, I don’t keep a timesheet (though maybe I should!) Well I work a 4-day week, and thankfully work from home so I don’t waste any time commuting. A normal working day would consist of 9 hours working, finish by 6pm then likely spent 2-3 hours a night writing.

On my days off, I find I’m either in a writing mood or not. If I’m not, I’ll still take an hour or two to do a bit of writing, as I feel a bit lost without progressing my stories a little. If I’m in a writing mood though, I can sit down and write for twelve hours straight. When I get on a roll and produce a whole 10,000 word chapter in a single day it’s a wonderful feeling.

So I supposed adding it all up, I probably spend around 30-40 hours a week writing. It’s my dream to be able to quit work and just write full-time, but alas for now that’s not an option. Out of interest, I probably spend several hours a week also responding to emails/comments/questions. While I sometimes slack on that a little when work gets busy or I’m really into writing, I will always try and make time as it’s one of the greatest parts of what I do!
