Repeatedly slams face into a brick wall

Time is the most valuable currency we have. I want to spend my time doing what I love.

Just because I can draw something doesn’t mean I want to or that I remotely enjoy the process. Art is brain heavy and exhausting mentally, drawing someone's idea is exhausting. I did it for TEN years nonstop, so excuse me if I am now utterly obsessed and frankly playing catch-up with my universe for the first time in a literal decade. Artwork is called artwork because the art is work.

I'm fine doing art for people for money, but I really just want to draw my species, my lore, etc. now if ppl wanna pay me to do drake related stuff, that's aces.

And I'm not saying my personal art isn't brain heavy, it is. Extremely so, because I want to improve desperately. But I feel so much more satisfaction completing a difficult piece for myself than I do doing the same for a client. It’s still work but at least it’s fulfilling work.

Anyway no I don't hate commissioners, they’re good and kept me fed for many years. I don't hate them, I just hate being forced to draw things I've drawn before. 😵‍💫 I can't really explain it any other way
