wondering if there are alternatives to xsplit and obs that consume significantly less memory. I'd like to try streaming mobile and hell if people can stream frk. a shitty iPad then the mobilestudio should be able to as well.[I'm working with 8 gigs of ram here on this portable pc]

Hmm... As far as I understood there were a number of settings you could change in OBS Studio to allow it to run better on a lower spec PC. You could always give the suggestions here a shot and see how they work for you. I think OBS Studio might be a more lightweight option compared to Streamlabs OBS if you haven't tried that as well. Just my two cents! Take with a pinch of salt as I am not a streamer and haven't used that software in a couple years. https://getonstream.com/the-best-obs-studio-settings-for-low-end-pcs/

I have a huge bias against obs because of how much of a cup whore it is, so I'm not sure their watered down some would be better......i did some testing today with xsplit [my normal broadcsster] but the little pc did grgquite toasty ;[

Ah gotcha, no worries. To each their own, unfortunately I've really only worked with the different versions of OBS a bit and couldn't really contribute anything meaningful or valuable to say about Xsplit. Hmm, well, I guess it was working pretty hard to get so toasty. If it was still able to run your art program and the stream without too much lag or too poor quality, it just might still be an option! But perhaps, browsing the net for tips on how to get Xsplit to run well on a "Low End PC" might have some answers for ya. Either way, sorry to say, I can't really offer any other helpful advice or input on this topic!
