Emain biome concept art [official concepts] (Patreon)

it's been a long time coming, and something that will NOT be on public sites like FA [there's enough theft of my property on that site as it is-] but I am working on the concept art for the various biomes of emain as well as fauna/flora and I will be doing 'dossiers' for the creatures as well. 

one of the first creatures to be drawn will likely be the qothari war hounds, as I am closest to finalizing them.

 there are many other species from old-old emain projects which I will be revamping/redrawing and also adding dossiers for, all in progress towards my first official book.  As you'll probably notice, my concept art is far different from my typical furry artwork, I put a lot of effort into both stylizing and realism for my concepts, I want them to be a pleasant mix between reality and a sci-fi-style. 

Why start with two of the most hostile areas on the planet? Well, the swamps of emain and the craggy wastes are very interesting and both familiar and yet alien. I happen to lean towards the most natural-unnatural places, in other words--the cities will be last on the docket. 

as for the why--well emain is a dead planet, why would you paint this? why show anyone at all if they can't immerse themselves in that world? 

A: I feel its important to know where you come from. The drakes ultimately came from this planet, the cancerous plague that took over it is part of their heritage, their lineage and their legacy. To forget the sacrifices and blood that got them to where they are would be dishonorable to the memories of the billions of inhabitants of that planet.
