hello, yes, I hate insects. the sheer amount of research and fucking effort that goes into drawing BUGS is ABSURD. I fucking HATE bugs. I mean I enjoy watching other creatures eat them, but I hate them and want them aaaall dead. I mean outside of ladybugs, cucujos, moths, butterflies, bees and mantids.

anyway here is a bastardization of a creature, a big mean nasty bug that will eat your children

the venom is EXTREMELY toxic and while they can reach about the size of a cat [a nuctopan] they are typically killed at about half that size as a creature of full grown dimensions is quite quick and agile and that barb can kill effortlessly. Even adult drakes can be brought down by a sting.

the tip of the tail with the venom gland must be removed prior to cooking as when heated it explodes and the venom will taint any meat it touches. [the taste of the venom is quite bitter, more bitter than even saponin in toxic fish, and while it can't kill you by ingesting /thats poison not venom/ it does taste absolutely dreadful. ]

there are antivenoms for this but they are precious and few colonies carry supplies of it regularly. best to don armor and avoid being stung as the hives are typically well within the dunes and rescue would never come before the venom killed you.
