Super Mario RPG: King Calamari fight WIP (Patreon)

I've got a bit of time before I work on my next NOOG toon. I want to get that page of SQ finished and practice more action focuses animation. The SQ page might be a while, those backgrounds are kind of detailed, and I want them to look good, but I also dread drawing backgrounds.

But for action practice, I started working on my favorite boss battle in Mario RPG, King Calamari (Smithy, Culex, Valentina, Yardovich and Bowyer are also super rad!) I've never actually animated anything like this before. My cartoons usually have people standing around, or shots changing to keep things interesting in lieu of real animation. I might not finish this completely, but I definitely want to finish an animatic of the fight.
