“Now finally! I found someone worth crushing!” Micha giggled as Hibiki charged at her, her fist wound up and ready to punch.

Clank!

“Hn…?!?” There was a huge scraping noise as Hibiki’s fist collided with Micha’s crystal she used to protect herself, yet she quickly found herself on the backfoot regardless. Hibiki’s punch just held so much force that the ground just didn't hold her, and she got pushed back almost faster than she could even run.

This girl wasn’t holding back. She was going all out swinging right from the very beginning. And Micha couldn’t help but smile at that. They had her exactly where they wanted her to be.

Micha activated her emergency thrusters as well, because she needed to push back at Hibiki’s assault as well. And with one big burst of power Micha actually managed to push her and get the Symphogear user off of her… for about a second, before Hibiki bounced right back and sprung herself towards Micha with ever greater force than before.

Clirrr!

The crystal Micha used as sword shattered, and Hibiki’s fist landed in her stomach with full force. And from there, the struggle was over and it was a one sided beatdown. Hibiki launched herself like a rocket through the air, her fist still firmly planted in Micha’s chest, dragging her further and further through the rubble. Until…

Poof!

Micha’s body dissolved into droplets of water. Hibiki looked shocked. She really thought she had her cornered and was so sure she had won too.

“Too bad.” Galie, the blue autoscorer said, grinning widely as she stepped forward from behind a broken pillar. “Maybe one day you’ll learn to differentiate between reality and illusions cast by reflections.”

Micha was standing below her, her arm cannon ready, pointing directly at the airborne Symphogear user. This was it. She messed up!

Vrroooooooommmm

“Get off my best friend!” A familiar yet slightly robotic voice called out.

“Ack!” Micha cried out, sounding like she had just been run over by something that sounded like a mixture of a fighter jet and a car. Hibiki must have blinked, because she didn’t quite see what had happened below her just now, but when she opened her eyes and heard a call, she knew she was safe.

“Hibiki! Don’t worry, I’ll catch you!” was all she needed to hear to relax herself and drop herself into the arms of Miku… even if that made no sense in her head at that point. And it got even weirder when Hibiki definitely did not land in Miku’s arms, but instead… on her back?

That was the first time Hibiki really got a chance to look at her best friend, and she almost got a heart attack from the sight. Muki was almost completely covered in metal plating, looking like a symphogear at first glance, but it ran deeper. Almost like even her skin was now replaced with metal, like she had been turned completely into a robot.

And that wasn’t even the weirdest part, as Miku now didn’t even remotely look human anymore. Well, her lower half didn’t, her upper half at least looked like a human-like robot. Her lower half on the other hand looked like a mechanized Pegasus, with four horse legs, a long rideable back and some ethereal wings on the side of her body, which she used to great effect to just barely hover over the ground.

All in all, Hibiki was shocked at what she saw and even more or less froze at that sight of her. Though when Miku’s speed drastically decreased and she started to land on the ground again, Miku was the one who also spoke up to her best friend.

“Hibiki, my sensors indicate that you have received no critical or medium damage, but you are still quite in shock. I assure you, it’s still me!” Miku spoke, and now it made an awful lot more sense why her voice sounded so robotic the moment before.

“What happened?” Hibiki asked, gaining her bearings and moving herself into a more comfortable position, as if she was to ride a horse. After all, Miku now kinda was a horse… in a way.

“My memory of that is inconclusive. I stated my desire to carry you too, no matter where you go, and my body changed like this.” Miku said, gradually coming to a halt. “Unfortunately I have no better explanation for what had transpired. But that also shouldn’t be our main priority at this exact moment.”

Miku looked upwards, morphing both of her hands into blades and then pointed up to the destroyed roof, where the two autoscorers were waiting. Hibiki understood quickly and added. ”Yeah, let’s talk more about that later. We have a fight to win before that.”

“Roger that.” Miku confirmed. “I’ll be by your side at all times. When I guard your six, their chances of winning approach zero. We cannot lose."

“Where did that hunk of metal come from? I thought the other girl was just that… a regular girl.” Micha asked, looking at Galie confused. The blue autoscorer however looked a lot more irritated.

“This wasn’t part of the plan. Gungnir should have fallen right here. How did they have another secret weapon up their sleeve?” Galie pondered to herself, before turning to Micha. “We need to get away from here. Challenging the unknown without Carol’s permission is not part of our mission. Better we… Hnnn?!?”

Kaboom!!!

Galie had automatically activated her defense barrier, because otherwise the two missiles shot by the mecha centaur might have hit her. Though before she had the chance to say any of her witty lines, Hibiki was already right in front of her, which was a place you never want the punching demon to be.

Micha tried to save Galie, dashing in with her crystal swords drawn, yet was disrupted by Miku’s arms, her blade hands easily blocking Micha’s crystal sword and her steadfastness being so incredible, that even Micha with her rocket booster couldn’t move her backwards a little bit.

And that’s when the two realized that this fight was far from over and far from that easy victory their plan would have suggested…

“I keep wondering… is it such a good idea to bring you here…?” Hibiki asked, looking at the massive metal friend next to her in the elevator.

“I have tried to calculate that too. On the one hand my calculations tell me that Genjuro would definitely want to help me, but at the other end almost all people in this submarine will most definitely be afraid of me, considering I look like a hybrid between a symphogear and an autoscorer.” Miku stated, having crossed her arms.

“The thing that I have noticed is that despite you saying that you are still yourself, you definitely talk more like a robot now.” Hibiki giggled, getting a bit closer to Miku.

“My sensors have picked up on that as well, though I don’t think I am in good enough control of my processor yet to change my speech pattern.” Miku said, looking down to her friend, before pulling one of her arms around her for a hug. “Is it a great issue or can you live with my data analysis speech?”

“Nah~ It’s just fine~” Hibiki sang, then climbed on the back of Miku, to hug her from behind.

“Should you really ride me inside of an elevator, HIbiki? I am concerned for your safety.” Miku exclaimed, but Hibiki just responded with. “You are and will always be the brightest star in my world. Whether you are a human, or a super mega cool fighting robot horse built to support me. You will always be my brightest star.”

“And I will also always make sure you are safe, so stay on my back as long as you want…”

Bing!

“Oh, we arrived.” Hibiki said, before letting out a small giggle. “I am so looking forward to the expression everyone will be making when they first see you~”

“My visual cameras are also fitted with a high defining video record function. I am ready to put everything on tape for your delight, Hibiki~” Miku stated, as the door of the elevator opened. Hibiki meanwhile giggled even harder on the back and said.

“Then I bet tonight we will have one heck of a great video to watch~ Let’s go and meet everyone~”

“Roger that!”

And with that, they left the elevated and stepped into the inside of the submarine. And even with Miku being now completely mechanized and no longer even human, Hibiki didn’t mind too much. And Miku quickly grew to love her form a lot for a very simple reason:

There was no better feeling than riding her best friend into battle, knowing that Hibiki would truly be unstoppable with Miku’s help.

An epic battle that ends in the emergence of an unexpected ally. I wonder how Hibiki would react to this.
