“Ugh, this is so frustrating! Is this really how I act around others!?” Azalea ranted to herself. It had been three days since she transformed Nick into an elegant harpy woman and became her shoggoth maid. Azalea thought the competition would be easy, assuming that Nagisa would give up much sooner. But after a few days listening to a very self-centered and quite oppressive woman, Azalea was at her breaking point. Despite Nicole being an “elegant harpy”, she was a bit of a slob and seemed to go out of her way to make Azalea’s life miserable. Azalea did transform Nick with the intent to make her hard to please, but only now did Azalea realize how far she went.

“Azalea, where are you!? You are supposed to trim my talons!” Nicole commanded from the other room. Azalea didn’t say anything and opened a small box where she kept an emergency potion. It wouldn’t turn Nicole back to normal, but it would at least restore her mind. She didn’t want to admit defeat, but it’s not like there was a prize to begin with. She swallowed her pride and took the potion up to Nicole. “About time you arrive! Now get to-” Without a word, Azalea tossed the potion at Nicole’s face. Nicole’s reaction time was slow and she couldn’t block the potion with her wings on time.

The purple liquid drenched the harpy’s face and began to be absorbed into her body.
“Azalea! How dare- you…” Nicole began slurring her words as she began to struggle to speak. She grabbed her head as if in pain and groaned a bit. “Ugh…” Nicole grunted as she came back to her senses. “Azalea… what happened- why am I a harpy?” Nicole looked down at her elegant but also very immodest dress. She had no recollection of what had happened in the previous few days.
“It’s… a long story. I apologize for dragging you into this, but I can assure you that Hiros had it worse,” Azalea said.
“Wait, what do you mean!?” Nicole raised her voice which took Azalea off guard. Even the “noble lady” persona didn’t get this angry. “What happened to him? And what did you drag me into?”
“Well…”

Suddenly, a portal opened up right at the entrance of Nick's room, making Azalea leap of surprise once again. Though she quickly realized that there was nothing to worry about, as this type of magic very clearly belonged to a certain goddess that Azalea knew she owed an apology to.

“Sorry for the intrusion.” Nagisa announced, stepping… no… rather slithering through the portal as she currently held the form of a rather tall four armed lamia that honestly looked more intimidating than Azalea was willing to give her credit for. And she was tightly followed by a lesser succubus that clearly was Hiros’ female counterpart, as expected.

“I didn’t hear back from you for a couple of days so I wanted to check up if you two are okay.” The dark goddess spoke with a patient smile on her face, to which Azalea almost broke into tears. Did Nagisa seriously torture her brother for three days and not even feel anything? Damn, she was more cruel than Azalea expected.

“I give up, Nagisa. You have won this bet. It seems like being evil really is a lot easier than being prim and proper…” Azalea hissed out, though she knew it needed to be said. Did it feel good: No. But at least she could now stop playing a stupid maid for an entitled Nicole…

“Huh? What are you talking about? Haven’t you read my message?” The dark goddess replied, tilting her head in confusion.

“Eh? What message?” Azalea let out.

“The one I sent you on your phone on the same day as we started this stupid bet. I lost, and I didn't even last 20 minutes.” Nagisa looked at the Fairy deadpanned.

“Nonono! I know when I have lost and I am willing to accept this L. I haven’t received any message of you losing, so you don’t have to make anything up in order to make me feel better.”

“Have you even checked your phone in the last few days…?”

“...no…”

While Nagisa and Azalea were discussing things with each other, Nicole flapped over to where Hera was standing and whispered into her ear. “Do you have any idea what's going on?”

“Ah, yes. It’s a bit of a story…” Hera fidgeted a bit, still uncomfortable being a pure creature of sex. “From what I could gather, Nagisa and Azalea made a bet. Nagisa had to be evil to me and Azalea had to be nice to you.”
“Ah, so that’s why you are a succubus.”
“Yeah…. I’ll be honest, Nagisa scared the life out of me. I thought she had gone off the deep end, but she couldn’t keep up the facade for that long…” Hera sighed and stared down at her feet, Nicole could tell from her face that something rather emotional must have happened between Hera and Nagisa.
“I don’t actually recall what happened, apart from some eldritch being showing up and then- I woke up a few minutes ago,” Nicole said.
“Wait, you were asleep the entire time?”
“Maybe? I’m not quite sure to be honest.”

The two turned their attention back to Nagisa and Azalea who were still arguing with each other. Nagisa wore an unimpressed smile while Azalea tried her hardest to appear tough, but she was clearly upset. Nicole and Hera looked at each, giggled and gave a knowing nod. They walked up to the two superpowered people and forced a large group hug, pulling Nagisa and Azalea as close as possible.

“Hey, what are you doing!?” Azalea protested. Nagisa giggled, but remained silent and embraced the others.
“Azalea, I’m not sure what happened, but calm down. Who cares about this bet or whatever you did,” Nicole said.

Azalea broke off from the group and began to rant some more.“But I… I couldn’t- and then…” She turned around and ran out of the room. The room was silent apart from the sobbing they could hear from the other room. Nicole began to walk to where Azalea left, but was stopped by Nagisa’s tail.

“Nicole, Hera, thank you. I think I should be the one to talk to Azalea. She’s clearly unstable at the moment. I have a feeling that I know what is happening inside her head, so I would ask you to leave this one to me,” Nagisa said. She gently pushed her friend and sister away as she followed where Azalea went. The room was just across the hallway and appeared to be Azalea’s room. Azalea sat in the center of her bed, but she was no longer a shoggoth and had transformed back into a fairy.

As Nagisa slithered through the door, her form also changed back to the way most people were used to seeing her, as just the dark-skinned beauty she usually was. Though she just continued into the room with the same speed as before, with neither malice nor anger in her eyes.

“What do you want? Leave me alone!” Azalea let out and gestured Nagisa to go away, yet the goddess simply sat down on the bed beside her. Azalea took a deep breath and raised her head to look at her. “Seriously, leave me alone!”

“Oh, don’t mind me. I’ll just be sitting here, right next to you.” Nagisa said and didn’t move beyond that. Azalea just let out a ‘hmpf’ and turned away from the goddess, trying to ignore her as best as she possibly can. Though she didn’t manage to keep that up for very long.

“...Did I… was I also this bad to people when I forced them to be and do whatever I want?”

“I don’t think you need me to tell you this. I am one of the only people you never managed to get a hold of.” Nagisa smiled, making Azalea also giggle softly to herself.

“I guess that is true… Do you think I can… change? Uwa~” Azalea let out, when suddenly Nagisa’s arm went around her for a soft hug. No words were spoken, yet Azalea knew exactly what Nagisa wanted to convey. So she hugged her back, tears finally appearing in her eyes.

Nagisa's grip tightened just a little and Azalea finally gave in and hugged her back. They stayed that way for a full minute followed by a few more of just small talk. Azalea was still upset, but she wasn’t crying anymore and was a lot more calm.
“Alright, we should go change them back, and apologize,” the fairy said.
“Hmm, yes,” Nagisa nodded. The two walked to the room Nicole and Hera were in, but they were nowhere to be seen.
“Huh? Nicole? Hera? Where did you go?” Azalea called out. Nagisa hid her smile, noticing the concern in her voice. The silence was broken by Hera screaming in anger followed by Nicole laughing. Their voices were coming from downstairs.

“Ah, it appears they might be playing video games,” Azalea let out a sigh of relief.
“Haha. And it sounds like my dear sister can’t even beat someone that lacks hands!” Nagisa laughed. Azalea joined in with her laughter too, and though it was a bit weak and toned back, nothing about it was forced.
“Yeah, why don’t we join?”
“That sounds lovely~”
