A complicated drawback to having the premise of "this kid must escape the party" is that your players aren't always thinking like human beings. There's often one who's played enough DnD to assume any time the party is in "initiative", it means no holds are barred and if people die, they die. DnD offers a way around this in that any time a player declares a mace to the head to be "nonlethal", it magically is and the person you're hitting is perfectly fine.

The Hero System, on the other hand, allows "pulling a punch", which is when you attack but do less damage. You still run a pretty open risk of killing people by hitting them, and at lower power levels it's easy to kill someone, or at least pushing them into an emergency situation, via any sort of violence. Hence, keeping Bingle or anyone alive in this game has been and continues to be an extremely delicate process in the real game.

Feels like a healthy mix of shenanigans and plot, I like it!

Good plot and stakes here now, and from a podcast perspective I really like Paul's Mom as a character, actually adds a very good angle of banter to the group. Looking forward to more of this one!
