I once read a book about a girl who got lost in the woods and used this rationale to try to find her way out. She came to a river and followed it until it became a swamp, which was worse than being lost in the woods.

We had a week skip. I got a little behind on Talon, and then decided to just devote the week to working on the "It's a Living" game. I'm not sure when it would next be appropriate to share progress on the game since it would be really underwhelming to just look at segments of an opening chapter in tiny pieces, but for my wife, who's been doing a little testing and early criticism, she's at least been frustrated by the lack of content after she's looked at what I have.

Which is good, see? It means she was enjoying what's already there and is annoyed that it all abruptly ends. Mostly I just have foundational stuff, the starting section of the little robot town you live in - you'll stay there or return to the town throughout the game. Weird dialogue between street objects with AI in them. That type of stuff.

I haven't built the first cutscene yet, and while I think it won't be too complicated I know I'm going to run into a few errors and I'm kind of dreading having to watch my own cutscene over and over again while hunting for mistakes like it's one of those stupid quicktime events that keeps killing you randomly. It'll combine all the tedious grind of animation with the tedious grind of coding, but eventually it will all just be a wonderful, completed thing.

Borg Lord

I'd rather be lost in the one dimension of following a river than in the two dimensions of a forest.
