I actually enjoy getting a fortune cookie that tells me a fun fact instead of a fortune, because in my head I imagine the people who make the fortunes and the decision to just write some pithy bit of wisdom instead of a fortune. And then there was the time when a fortune cookie promised I'd one day find myself married to a wonderful husband and had a good laugh at how whoever wrote that must have figured, "eh, I got like a 50/50 shot on this one", and then rolled the dice and lost.
