The rest of Stebe is here:

A comment someone made about Stebe recently was "It's really jarring to read this comic from start to finish with how drastically the art changes between when a comic starts and when it ends." We're almost at the end and this is certainly no exception. It's really about pieces coming together, realizing some bones go here and some muscles go there, not drawing the chins to be the length of the forearm - you know, that sort of thing.

Anyway, I just really like the idea that a ninja in any performance is just a non-person you can't acknowledge unless he does something weird. This particular guy has been trapped on 23rd Street for ages, and in all that time he never dropped the mask. Nobody on 23rd Street even remembers there's supposed to be a human behind a puppet. The man is a master who will go on to do many great performances wherein he will not be noticed at all.

I hope someone who sees this comic page by itself tries to piece together what exactly is going on here.

Well, the last time we saw Fabian was ages ago and I had to reread the whole chapter to understand what's going on again, so I don't know if I would've figured that out without the commentary, but I assume it would've registered somewhere in the back of my head as yet another item on the long list of things that are weird in the Stebe Universe. The list that is so full of questions that I've long since lost all hope to be getting answers for them and thus I stopped bothering with it and just enjoyed the ride. It's just a wacky adventure with nonsensical goals, nonsensical adversaries with nonsensical demands and a nonsensical plan to get back out again. I know that you threw in the occasional deeper message like the thing with the powerless royal title, but paying attention to deep stuff like that while the whole Stebe weirdness turns my brain into a mushy paste is truly NOT something you can hope for, at least from me. That's out of my league by Miles. Maybe your son will be able to do it and even surpass you at some point, but not me. If you teach him your ways he's SO going to become a linguistics and/or philosophy professor.

PS: The Real Fabian is slim and shady. HA! I got it in the end after all!!! XD Yeah, right, that was SO not what you were going for.
