The Other Place (Patreon)

So this page is interesting. It originally called for an establishing shot of the premises, but it was left out in the first draft. The second shot wound up much smaller and less grand than was called for. The Orphanage is supposed to be rather large, and you're going to see in future pages some long hallways, multiple rooms, multiple floors, and a lot more than what you'd assume from seeing this cottage.

But on the up side, you can see Copy growing more comfortable with this general style and format. Nice, expressive faces, clean, crisp lines, good use of background fill to avoid negative space. This is my first proper comic script since Lord of the Dwarves, and Copy's first comic!

But I've noticed I have a habit of diving into the deep end before I learn to swim. A four panel comedy strip probably would have been a better starting point than full-blown serialized stories, but then again this is a chance to tell some stories I've really wanted to tell for a while.
