So guys! Dawn Somewhere has not been growing, and I've finally come to the conclusion that there aren't a lot of ethical ways for us to grow at all on Youtube. There are formulas that work on the platform, but if a person isn't doing viral videos or focusing on a third party's IP, the only way to succeed is to be somewhere else.

So to that end, we're switching tactics and moving away from Youtube and more into comics, where it appears that we can actually grow and compete by making fun and engaging works! Now, this doesn't mean the death of all Youtube content entirely, but I'll like try to devote between four to five work days to comics for now, and between two and three work days to animations. Animations won't come out as frequently, but based on how things have been going, it seems like that might barely matter in the grand scheme.

Youtube is nothing more than a hosting platform to us. We'll never grow here again if we don't grow somewhere else first. It's the unfortunate truth, and there's no way around it. However, I'm excited to work in a different medium, and I hope it'll provide an opportunity to tell a lot of the stories that have been kicking around in my head for so long!

Do you still do music commissions?

DawnSomewhere

I haven't in a while, but I may still be up for something depending on what you're interested in.

well, there's a song that essentially doesn't exist anymore (i'm not sure why) except for a 30 second snippet I found. I'd like it extended into a two and a half to three minute version. basically I want to 'reverse engineer' a whole song from a piece of it. I could do it myself, sort of, but it would sound terrible.

If you intend to keep on MLP content and you've given up on YouTube then honestly you should go back to simple screencaps with voice over that you can produce in a week or two, like during on the first NAS relaunch and post those on alternate services like bitchute and then on YouTube without monetization just to attract an audience for your patron and other work, like many people do now. The reason is, as I understood it at the time, the move to proper animation was to get around YouTube's disregard for fair use, but if that doesn't work then why keep doing it? It's a lot more work and no real value added, I don't think many of your long time followers (like myself) care that much about the animation itself S something more than a vehicle to deliver your stories, it's your writing that brought your audience to you.
