Some lore tidbits:

-For the relationship between Tiberius and Yoki (some of you might remember). Their relationship happened before Tiberius met Orianne. They were on the verge of being a family, sadly Yoki’s family are very strict and dogmatic when it comes to her suitors. If they find out, Yoki would’ve been thrown in the dungeon or worse, they would declare war on Tiberius’ kingdom, and the United Imperium would step in go to war with Yoki’s nation due to Tiberius’ kingdom was under the Imperium’s protection. Plus the casualties would be staggeringly high, for Yoki’s dynasty while the Imperium would suffer minimal. Why? Because the Imperium has a modern military arsenal, while the realm where both Tiberius and Yoki’s kingdoms are located just only have swords, arrows, and magic. So to prevent a war from happening, both Tiberius and Yoki sacrificed their happiness of being a family to spare thousands upon thousands of lives, gave their sons to Emperor Augustus Gustave to raise and watch over them, and both of them broke up while keeping the past relationship a secret.

As for the foster elven daughters, this happened shortly after the Great Human-Elven war. After the human alliance along with the beastfolk, orc, elven outcast rebels freed the realms,  defeated the elven empire and banished them to an isolated realms. The alliance were scouring any pockets of elven empire remnant resistance, they got a tip that High Queen Arvae (the antagonist of the setting) has three daughters, and they’re amongst the resistance. To finally tie up loose ends, the alliance searched for them to either seize them or kill them. But when they found them, they were babies. After a moral dilemma of potentially killing babies, Orianne intervened and decided to adopt them and raise them as her own, as an act of mercy and giving the middle finger to Arvae.
