This episode is a masterpiece in how to do a bait and switch twist. It's so earned. There are some twists (even in this show) and that are so asinine and well planted that they call into question everything you saw in a bad way. This episode and this twist calls everything you into question in the best way. Also, the idea of the Shaman simulating perfect happiness for Angel by giving him the perfect day to induce the soul leaving is so cool and sooooo perfect and was set up for us literally 6 seasons of TV ago.
