When Willow shoots her vampire self with the tranquilizer gun, in reality it shouldn't work. Vampire Willow's heart doesn't beat, therefore her blood is not circulating. So how can the tranquilizer dart take effect?

By that token the blood vampires drink should just sit in their stomach, and they shouldn't be able to talk, walk or have sex. Likewise, when Angel got shot with the poisoned arrow in season 3, it shouldn't have been able to spread. My theory is that the transition from human to vampire results in certain autonomic functions get transferred to equivalent demonic organs that are out of phase with normal reality; and that vampires themselves exist ever so slightly out of phase. This is why the sun burns them - think burning something with a magnified glass - and why they have no reflection. And when vampires are staked, they're actually drawn out of our reality and into a hell dimension where the old ones retreated to; leaving behind an ionized particulate mistaken as their "dust".

I've give you credit Domi for re-watching HIMYM. I just can't, after that ending. In fact, a few months after the finale, I happened to be in Urgent Care getting an IV, because I was sick; and they gave me a remote to flip through channels and the only thing worth watching was How I Met Your Mother. I figured, what the hell, it's been months, it's a rerun from season 5. And then it turned out the B plot was basically a parody of how they ended up ending being how they ended the show. They were recycling the ending before they even got to the end.... So I'll never be able to re-watch it.
