About the elevator scene. Did Angel think that he could end evil once and for all? Did he think that defeating W&H meant defeating evil? Holland Manners made it clear that evil goes on, no matter what form. The law firm is just a physical interpretation of evil. In a way, he did a good thing, showing Angel where his focus should be. Angel should be concerned with what's going on in the world, and not just trying to defeat W&H.
