This episode always makes me wonder about Hank Summers. We see in season one he has visits with Buffy. In season two she spent the summer with him. In season 3 they had plans but work got in the way. In season 4 she wishes he was around more, but when she sees angel in “I will remember you” she mentions she’s visiting her dad. But now I’m season 5 he ran off with a secretary and bailed on Buffy and Dawn. It always makes me wonder if he did that since season 4 or if the Monks changed Buffy’s memory.

it was about found family for sure. also if you rewatch the scene where cousin Beth finds out that the women in the family aren't actually demons, you can see her beginning to understand all the gaslighting and abuse that was done to her, so I wouldn't say she's a bad person, just far more brainwashed than Tara. :(
