Your reaction to the ending: "WHAT. THE. FUCK?!" 100% reasonable response. A couple of reactors just about fell out of their chairs. The fact that it was a dream was 10 times as interesting to me, because now Spike has this shameful secret.

I was expecting utter shock at the end of the episode, but my god...your reaction was totally priceless :D I have to say, I did not feel sorry for Riley because I hated his 'alpha male' (as zerofk has put it) behavior towards Buffy this episode...I understand he thinks that Buffy does not love him because she has not explicitly said it but man...she had shown it to him by the way she was scared for him and made him go to see the doctor. This is probably the reason why I could never personally ship the two of them together.
