I loved your reaction to Doyle's line "Get a job, you lazy sow." Priceless

Exposition dump at the start is understandable since while many people would already have watched Buffy, they can't make assumptions so filling the outline of the backstory is kinda necessary. I love how Cordy went from "omg i'm in trouble!" to "oooo i'm gonna need popcorn for this" :) Doyle was originally meant to be Whistler, the guy who initially helped Angel get out of the gutter back in BTVS, but the actor wasn't available & they'd likely have run into issues with Marvel, as Whistler is also the name of Blade's assistant, so it worked out. A number of people criticised Glenn Quinn's Irish accent as inauthentic but that was a producer decision, they thought people wouldn't understand his working class Dublin accent (like UK, Ireland has a LOT of local accents) so asked him to americanise some pronounciations. They're both excellent shows, but they each have their own perspective & it's great that the Angel & Cordy as the main characters have the space to grow, as well as giving DB & CC space to really show off their acting abilities. And while I won't give any details, yes there are a few crossovers - the viewing order guide you're using takes those into account to keep everything all neatly lined up.

Awesome, can't wait to keep watching! And now I'm gonna have to play close attention to his accent haha.
