Faith has always been a favorite character of mine, and a lot of her character and history is implied rather than outright said explicitly. She seems to be alone, with no family or support system, she mentioned a dead mother in 3x03, and she lives by herself in a very 'Spartan' motel room. Also in 3x03, she was gobbling up food with her hands at dinner at the Summers residence, and I wonder if she' hasn't had the luxury of regular meals for a part of her life. Despite all of that, I don't believe her when she says she doesn't care about having killed a man. She went back to the body, and she didn't immediately make to weight and dump it. She just stared at it, moved to touch it, as if she wasn't sure if she should believe what she just did. The backstory that I am inferring from the little hints we have indicate someone who might have been on her own, maybe not able to trust the authorities to do the right thing by her. She seems more street savvy, maybe because she had to grow up on the streets? I don't know for sure, but her reaction of dumping the body seems in line with that sort of background. That being said, when she lies and says she doesn't care about killing the man (my opinion only), I think she's trying to fool herself more than anyone else so that she doesn't have to feel the guilt that inevitably comes with ending a life. Just my opinion, but for all that Faith is a hot mess, she's generally tried to do the right thing, but people like Gwendolyn Post have taught - through their betrayals - that Faith can only count on herself. I love Faith, and I hate that she's had to suffer so much, even if a lot of that suffering is my imagination of what could have happened before she joined the show. That being said, she's a very complicated character that inspires a lot of mixed feelings. So if you don't feel the same way that I do, Domi, then I would totally understand. I just hope that you can find a sliver of doubt in your heart regarding that 'I don't care' moment. I think Faith deserves better than what I feel she's doing to herself.
