okay that ending was IN-FREAKING-SANE!!!! i absolutely cannot believe they just did this to buffy?! WHAT THE HECK GUYS?

ps: posted this a few mins early since.... POLL COMING OUT IN 10 MINUTES!!! picking our next show to watch ;)

I think one point that Anya was trying to make was that it was dumb luck that made Buffy the Slayer. She did nothing beforehand to deserve that title. It was only after she was chosen that she proved to be a great Slayer. And Anya seems to feel that Buffy has let her superior abilities get to her head, that Buffy feels she is better than others just because of that.

A little trivia: The band still sticking around in Sunnydale and playing at The Bronze is Nerf Herder, the same group that does the show's theme song.

Anya's speech: All Anya did was turn her ex into a troll and she got her demon powers, is that all she had to do to 'earn' her powers? 3. Giles and Robin acting like they didn't try to push Buffy into testing the potentials and accepting casualties? 4. Thank you! Faith asks Buffy can she follow? no cause shes a leader exactly! for seven years she leads them, Giles saying it all rests on you, 'Joyce' saying her friends have always put too much pressure on her. 5. Willow and Xander with guilt at the hospital, they want her to lead but also sit there and play games when she is facing the biggest fight of her life, also she clearly feels awful over what happened to Xander and can barely face him. Anya's been bitter about Buffy this whole season (people can say well she did try to kill Anya? but Anya even says they both knew it would come to this because they both have a job to do) Buffy then saves her the next episode and tells her she doesn't want her friends to be alone? Willow is clearly upset about what happened to Xander, Giles and Robin are bitter about the whole Spike thing and Dawn is still inwardly pissed about Buffy not "choosing her" so decides its best to kick her out? I understand them all being scared, but as Xander literally said last episode " you didn't come here to fight plaque". Giles brought the potentials to Buffy and just lays all this responsibility on her about protecting them, then as I said, telling Buffy that everyone is expendable??? They all had personal reasons for how they acted with Buffy, they were all bitter and pissed, with the exception of Faith (except number 1 ?), so it wasn't all about going into battle imo.

It's the kind of situation that arises when someone wants Buffy to face having to be all alone, so the other characters have to do something they normally wouldn't to facilitate that isolation.
