Thanks so much for the suggestions of what to cover for the Third Map in July. As you might remember we asked you to suggest locations in your favourite books that would work well as maps. It was lovely to see the wide range of books covered, and there were some very inspiring ideas. We definitely added to our list of books to read this year, too.
We felt that some of the locations suggested wouldn't reach their potential on a single level 20x20 map, so we've made a note of those ideas for the future. However, we have chosen a winner. It's a very exciting and iconic location, and was clearly also popular from the comments it received. We love the location too, so the Third Map in July will be The Cliffs of Insanity from The Princess Bride. We're very excited - please feel free to quote the film in the comments below - we don't blame you!
We've been hard at work the past few days on two things. One is the Map of the Month for July, which we'll preview on Sunday. The other is a new Geomorphic set. Inspired by how well received our recent Basic Dungeon Expansion set was, we've put together a brand new 21-tile set of geomorphic caves. We have plans to produce some tiles to make it join together with Basic Dungeon (we love dungeon-cave transitions!) but in the meantime there are thousands and thousands of ways to arrange these tiles.
And, as our amazing Patrons, we're giving you an exclusive 10x20 tile of a fungus cavern (download link in this post). It could be used on it's own, or joined up with the tiles in the Basic Cave set to make huge caves to get lost in! We hope you find the tile useful, and if you decide to pick up the Basic Cave set too, that you make some brilliant layouts!
See you on Sunday!
