May's Mapping Journal: news, updates & a discount (Patreon)

A funny month for us as Joe transferred to working on maps full-time and then was totally unable to settle into his new scheduled hours due to us all having a crazy sickness bug, hospitalisations etc!  All well and good now and getting back into the swing of things.  Your third map for June, inspired by the Thunderdome, is still on track to be previewed tomorrow.

Maps this month

At the beginning of the month we made residences for creatures on either  end of the humanoid scale - The Giants' Cave and the Halfling House.  We also celebrated May 4th with a Sci-Fi sale, and put out two new futuristic maps - Jovasem Bunker and the Roikos 3 starfield.  We're keen to revisit some older sets now we have more time to make maps and so added to our popular Basic Dungeon Geomorph with a set of larger themed rooms - thanks to everyone for the feedback on this as it is always really helpful for us.  

Revisiting another map type, we set sail on the Danse Macabre.  When we released our last set of ships some people were keen for non-cannon armed versions, and this ship is the result (it's armed with ballistae) - more to come!  Finally, we've  just released Aerineya: Sky Temple Ruins, but see below for more details about that.

Still to come this month - a day & night rooftop map, and a multi-floor manor house which is proving tricky to get right...but watch this space, we'll get there.

No games for us so far!

We got some recent maps printed by a company online and were very pleased with how they turned out (see pic).  We've had some disasters recently with local printers and needed to try something new.  These are probably the best colour representation we've had.  Of course our planned game session had to be postponed due to our home becoming a plague house, but hopefully we'll get to use the maps soon!

Patreon goal details

You may have noticed we are hovering around the 375 goal so it is likely we will be adding this reward to your bundles in June!  It's going to be a page packed with GM resources for a recent map release and we think  you'll find it really useful.  Excitingly, our friends Absolute Tabletop recently offered to make some of their 'Insta-Dungeons' (a single page packed full of resources) for our maps and as these are a similar concept to our 375 goal, they have agreed to produce some of these new rewards for us.  Their first edition will be for July's reward bundle.  If you don't know AbTab, they make GM resource supplements and their recent Kickstarter was for a book packed full of these kind of resources, so they are experts in this kind of thing.

Discount - Aerineya: Sky Temple Ruins

We're pleased to get a new map out today, and one that covers a setting we haven't visited before - floating islands in the sky!  Woohoo!  We became enthusiastic about the idea after AJ Pickett suggested floating sky islands as an alt-version for the Pickled Wyvern tavern back in November, and so our first map (of many in this setting) is the Sky Temple Ruins.
