I'd been holding off on this for a few reasons; I had to rewrite the first scene, and there are still some placeholders.  I did the rewrite, but it's clear I won't be resolving the placeholders until I get around to editing it, so oh well—drafts are drafts, unfortunately.

As I neared the end of the last chapter, I had every intention of skipping ahead to Sunset hatching from her egg, but as I tried to actually tie it off, I realized I still had some more things to do.  I'm glad I caught it, but it unfortunately means a double-dose of largely Twilight monologue, which I'm not entirely happy with.  That said, I've managed to take it in some fairly important directions, so bear with me.

Well, the poll doesn't seem to be going too well, with less than a third of my patrons responding and the unexplained loss of one $10 backer, but oh well—words continue.

After 47,000 words in Sharing the Nation, we're back to A Sparkle-ling perfection for a short break, and it's been another 20,000 words since Twilight has had a turn in the POV seat.  I almost considered making this a journal-style thing quickly covering events while Sunset is in her egg, but Twilight's normal narration is fairly journalistic regardless.

…Oops?  I came here to announce the belated adding of the second half of Chapter 8 only to discover that I apparently never announced the first half!  Well, um, anyway, I'd been sitting on the second half until editing because the first pass was really rough and I didn't really hit the notes that I'd wanted to.

I'm… mostly happy with it, now?  Though I'm still not sure if the emotional bits come across right, or if I've sabotaged it by playing the first one off for laughs…

Cleaned things up and made a decent number of changes and additions.  I'll proof it later by running it through TTS, but unless something unexpected comes up, it'll go out for preview tomorrow and get posted to FimFiction a few days later.

So, right back to being late on the scene previews.  Things have just been a bit of a headache recently with internet problems and various other things going on, which isn't really an excuse for not throwing a link out here, but it's just kind of fallen through the cracks.  This is also a little rougher than normal, including some placeholders still in the text, which explains some hesitance to put it out there.  It'll definitely be seeing some attention in the first scene on the editing pass.
