Despite the prisoner's initial bravado, Queen Cecily knew it was only a matter of time before Charlotte Eclair would falter and succumb to her punishment. Time passed, more and more food was shoveled into her gullet, and as Charlotte's waistline surged and grew more and more bulbous, her composure and defiance waned.  It was then, after hours of continuous forced feeding, that the prisoner began to understand how this was an actual punishment.
