Enjoyed your reaction. Linklater did a good job capturing the 70's in that setting in Texas (and could be in other states or Canada, etc.) I was a high school freshman in Texas in 1977 (one year after the time in this movie). The awesome soundtrack is the music we listened to. In high school, I spent so much time in those places shooting pool, and playing foosball (no spinning) and pinball, and listening to music from the jukebox. As you may know, the movie takes place in Austin. Richard Linklater lives in Austin (area). My son saw Richard Linklater in a grocery store in Austin the other day.

I only just started watching this, so maybe you find out at the end, but that is actually *not* Jeremy London from Mallrats, but his twin brother Jason London.

I'd not seen or heard much about this one before. Unfortunately this one just wasn't for me. I made it nearly 60mins in and couldn't shake the boredom, nor could I really relate, attach to or appreciate any character. But glad that you both had a good time. I still have to revist Point Break eventually.
