Hello everyone! Here's the watchalong for the first three episodes of WandaVision. The watchalongs are going to follow the edits, so multiple episodes will be in one video. This will be the same for the shows after.

My post-episode thoughts that you see in this video are also going to be in the edited versions that go on the channel.

Like my website page for MCU films, I have made a dedicated page for the MCU shows, which is where all of these will be posted to in the order that I watch them. For continuity and binge-watching purposes, my reaction pages will still link into each other in their watch order so the Far From Home page will link into this WandaVision video.

Please enjoy! I am gonna try REALLY hard to watch the next 6 episodes before Monday's release of this video on the channel because I have so many questions and I refuse to be spoiled!

Cheers,

✦ KL

Just curious for everyone on here… How exactly do y’all do the Patreon watch alongs? Computer and phone? Picture in Picture? TV app and laptop?

BratPfanneTV

I have multiple monitors so I usually do one on each monitor when I haven't yet seen a show so that I can see it fully, but when I know something already I do Picture in Picture.

Brian Settles

Fun fact, the actress who played Bev (is that how mirrors work?) also played the girl working at the gas station in season 3 of Breaking Bad!

I'm as pumped as all the others to be starting this journey with you. To me, it's like watching a flower bloom, gradually opening its petals. Gotta shout out Kathryn Hahn (Agnes), she's great fun!

Onno Smits

Oh man I'm so excited for this! It's not my favourite of the MCU shows (that comes a while later still), but dang this is high up there for me! When this came out, speculation on wtf was happening was so much fun!

kaiielle

I bet. 🤣 I feel very out of it right now and have no idea if my speculations are accurate or not. Excited to find out this weekend!

Ahh finally!! Easily one of my favorite mcu shows because of how different it is. Excited to see you confused because of how it starts and all the little things you're gonna pick up and question!

Curaitis

Those three Episode showed how much potential this Show had. Elizabeth Olsen showed again how great she is as Wanda. Easily one of favs of all MCU Actors. Cant wait for your final review at the end of the show.

Sooooo many questions, eh?

You probably already picked this up but each episode so far has represented a different era in tv! Episode 1 was 50s, Episode 2 was 60s, hence the transition to color at the end because that was the era that most tv got colorized, and Episode 3 was 70s. One of my favorite things about this show consistently has been Paul Bettany's performance. I had never seen him in anything outside of the MCU and he's been great as Vision previously, but he was never given the range he's been given here in WandaVision, he's so entertaining! I'm glad you understand and remember that Phase 4 is the start of the Multiverse Saga, I think that helps reorient focus from everything the Infinity Saga had done and prepares viewers to experience some very different things.

Michael King

Lol, wut? He has incredible range in his career which has spanned decades.

I think I was surprised at seeing faces I haven't seen in a long time, like Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty from That 70's Show) and Emma Caulfield Ford (Anya from Buffy). Kathryn Hahn is the real show stealer to me. She absolutely nails her role in this series. The supporting cast really elevates this show. Even though it's not exactly the way we're used to seeing them, I'm so glad we got more of Wanda and Vision. This was a side of them we don't often get to see and it's so fun to see them just have fun with the various sitcom tropes and even acting styles within the various decades. The direction is also phenomenal and the switch from sitcom to horror/thriller back to sitcom is very well done. Some fun facts: The first episode really was filmed in front of a live studio audience. When items are flying through the air, all of that was practical and was up on wires. Olsen described it as feeling 'meta' because she essentially grew up on the Full House set which also kinda adds a special quality to this series given her sisters. While the episodes pull from a lot of different shows of the time/era, Ep. 1 is heavily inspired by Dick Van Dyke, Ep. 2 has a Bewitched feel to it, and Ep. 3 is pulling from the Brady Bunch. It's easiest to kind of pick up on with the intros/titlecards. PS: Shield stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.

Glad to see you taking the approach of just going through it to see it all unfold. Thanks for doing 3 at a time. Great reaction so far!
