Hey everyone! I hope the start of your week is going well. Here's the next two-parter watchalong reaction for you all. The only one after this will be the final two episodes of the whole series.

Looking forward to your comments on these! 🥳 Thanks as always for watching with me.

Cheers,

In this episode, Jedha is mentioned in connection to the Kyber crystal. Seeing as it is the only concrete location Saw got in this whole operation, it would make sense for him to relocate and establish a base there, which is where we find him in Rogue One. Also, the xchange between Saw and Mon Mothma is great. To be honest, at this point, Mon Mothma, while having its flaws and maybe seeming a bit undecisive at times, is the leader the Rebellion needs: she thinks in terms of long-term strategy and is very contious of the limited forces the rebellion has: in order to grow, the Rebellion needs to win the minds and hearts of the people, and generally speaking, being cruel and ignoring civilian casualties is not a good way to do it. At first glance, Saw and Luthen seem similar, as both are very much morally gray, willing to do morally questionable things for the greater good. But there's a big difference: for Saw, winning means destroying his enemies, his goal is to see the Empire burn, whereas Luthen has the same goals as Mon Mothma: toppling the Empire to replace it with something better. I'd say someone like Luthen was a necessary evil when the rebellion was too weak to act publicly and openly. Now that it has gone public, there's not as much need of Luthen, you need a more righteous (but strategical) way of leading the rebellion, and that is what Mon Mothma provides.

I remember seeing this episode and seeing Saw again looking like his Rogue One self and just being so excited. And the fact that Two Tubes was with him as well was just icing on the cake. Saw is one of my favorite SW characters for his complexity, I like that I have mixed feelings on him and for the Rebellion it's important to have characters like Saw to give more depth and see the darker side of the Rebel cause. I really hope Saw is going to be more prominent in Andor S2.

I also hope that we see more of him in S2 and I think we will just because of how we see him in Rogue One, we need some sort of bridge to that. I'm excited for what's to come! He's a great character and I love having mixed feelings about him too.
