Another really fun road ensemble comedy starring Burt Reynolds and directed by the same director, Hal Needham, is Cannonball Run. It’s a star-studded affair (of the time) including it being one of, if not the first, American films with Jackie Chan. Might be another great one to pair with your Dad (who provided great insight for Smokey & the Bandit!).

I was a baby when this movie came out, yet this is still very representative of the world I grew up in. Both the time period and growing up in Texas. It tickled me to watch you confused by CB radios and handles, and the humor of the time. Your dad did a great job filling you in. He was a good addition for this movie. Definitely an enjoyable watch. I hope you find opportunities to bring him back and bring in other family members.
