Quick Update & Hello! (Patreon)

Hey Adventure Club! I hope you're all doing really well. 😊 I am here to say hello and share some quick updates about content and life and things! The major updates and such will be in the July Trail Thoughts Newsletter which will be posted next week.

First, Vacation... and when the next one will be!

My time off in Ontario last week was amazing and I'm so happy that I had that time with my friends. I had so much fun on the beach and in the water, up until I got really sunburnt anyway. 😅 There were lots of laughs, smiles, good food, good booze, and good 🌿. It was a much needed vacation.

I know there was only one video this month that went out publicly on the channel. I appreciate you all allowing me to have a bit of slow-down this month to enjoy the summer weather, time with friends, and live a little bit of my life. I will say that I am very excited for the hot weather to go away as I am much more productive and motivated when my feet aren't swollen from the heat. 😂

I'm giving a ton of notice on this, but I wanted to let you all know that my next time off will be in October, from the 3rd to the 16th. This period of time is a bit different as I am not the one travelling. A friend of mine will be coming here. They have never been to Canada before and have never seen the Rocky Mountains, so I want to make myself available during this time to play Tour Guide and hang out with them! Obviously closer to, I will let y'all know what you can expect for videos during that time.

Second, A Hiccup

Earlier today, my Elgato Cam Link decided to stop working. This is essential for my reaction videos as it is what connects my camera to my PC for recording. I am hoping that it's just the HDMI cable that is causing the issue and not the Cam Link itself. Unfortunately, I don't have another HDMI to microHDMI cable handy to test and my small town doesn't have a store that sells this type of cable specifically. I am leaving super early tomorrow to go out of town for the weekend, but will be picking up a new cable and getting this to work is priority #1 when I get home late Sunday night. If it's not the cable and is the Cam Link itself then I will have to order another one and that will take a few days to get here. This means that Twitch streams could be impacted (no camera), and I won't be able to record any reactions at all until I get it sorted. While I have another camera (the Logitech C920), the quality is just not there and I don't feel comfortable using it for my YouTube videos.

I'm also having a bit of internet issues on top of this. 😑 Thankfully that doesn't affect recording, editing or exporting, but does affect uploading. Also hoping to get that sorted ASAP. Gotta love when tech issues happen all at once.

Third, A New Poll!

Later tonight, I'll be posting a poll for y'all to vote on the next movie! Yes, Rain Man and Batman are still coming. This poll will be what I watch after those two! Reminder that folks at the Trail tier and higher will be able to view the poll and cast their vote.
