Jedi Mandalore (Dylan)

This film came out when I was 12 so I have so many fun memorises surrounding the film before and after release. Nolan stated that his draft of the script was inspired by Charles Dickens' 1859 novel A Tale of Two Cities, novel set in the French Revolution. Bane is a really cool character not you're typical brute as he's also an highly intelligent mastermind something this film does a really good job at showcasing. Bane from a visual standpoint and origins is very different though as in the comic's he's an Hispanic Mexican Luchador. Bane in the comic's does have an English father though so maybe this rendition is alot closer to his Fathers origin than Mothers. I was a little upset at first that Bane wasn't like his Hispanic comic counterpart as that's who I grew up with but it grew on me overtime. Catwoman is also really cool but I'm not the biggest fan of her costume doesn't feel very Cat like compared to other renditions. The cat ears on the goggles are a nice touch but besides that the outfit looks like normal tactical gear which suits the Nolan grounded look. Anne Hathaway also revealed that she partially based her version of Catwoman on legendary actress Hedy Lamarr which is awesome. Bane breaking Batman's back is a great nod towards the comic's, homage to the Knightfall comic. Like Long Halloween I'll not go into details about the comic but I do highly recommend the story arc as its really good, maybe not as a first Batman comic but would be a great follow up. Lucius Fox makes a remark about Bruce Wayne coming out of cryo-sleep. This to me just reminded me of Mr Freeze but I'm not 100% sure if this was hinting at the character. Would love for a Mr Freeze movie myself still dive about what Nolan could've achieved with the character. John Blake's Legal name being "Robin" is a very interesting way to end a film. John Blake himself is a character created for the Nolanverse so he isn't from the comic's. This is no doubt just a little Easter egg to Robin the Boy Wonderer as in the comic's Robin himself has his own name and origin so I'd imagine Nolan would've used this instead of creating a whole new character to become Robin. Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the other hand would've made an amazing Robin so I'm like on the fence lol Overall I do really like this film even though I'm not big on Nolan's focus on grounding the universe and his take on Gotham (I like the wacky and outlandish elements of Gotham and her villains) I do love the actors and his stories set in the Nolanverse. I do recommend checking out Batman 1989/Returns along with The Batman as I think you'll love these as well plus there just awesome movies. There are some amazing animated Batman films like Mask of The Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker all set within the same Animated universe. You also have stand alone stuff as well based on comic's like Under the Redhood and Dark Knight Returns these are set in there own separate elseworlds and can be watched by themselves. I would recommend the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) but there's so many seasons and shows gives Clone Wars a run for it's money lol But it's amazing and for many the definitive version of these characters. You also have the Arkham Games that are heavily inspired by the DCAU such as Batman: The Animated Series so the games will provide you with a great insight into the world of Gotham. The games even have many of the same voice actors and the game's story was even written by the people behind the Animated Series.

Thank you for the birthday present. It’s easy to miss Bill Medhelson as Daggett, but in addition to all the other callbacks and memories at the beginning, you also got Director Krennic from Rogue One. Little known fact - the judge for Gotham was meant to be Joker, but with Ledger’s passing, they had Scarecrow take over the part. But yeah, what a trilogy of movies, no? And I love this movie, easily as good as Begins, maybe right behind TDK. Now, IF… IF… you desire to read the inspiration behind this, buckle up, it’s five years of Batman comics between Knightfall and No Man’s Land. Worth checking out A Death in the Family, A Lonely Place of Dying and Sword of Azrael as prequels too. Truth be told, that’s the Batman stories I love the most. Can’t wait to see what is in the future. Thanks to this experience. Even the “oh brother” look you shot at the camera for the Blake reveal. One of my best friends HATES it too.
