Mimic species ref - High Res (Patreon)

Was going to be a reference for a mimic character, but since I was still trying to settle on the details and such I decided to just make it a reference for a typical mimic species and then base a character off it later. 

Not all Mimics will have this magic stomach-space however. Most Mimics will generally be limited to the confines of their chest cavity to utilize as a stomach, though they may be able to expand their stomach into and beneath the ground over very long periods of time or with magical assistance, increasing their stomach capacity at the cost of more or less being permanently rooted in place.

Mimics that have lived for a century or more are almost guaranteed to have a magical stomach like shown here, or a spacious one beneath the ground. Of course it's extremely difficult to tell if you're looking at a mimic or not just by looking, and just about impossible to determine its age at all. The only ways to tell what kind of stomach it has is either to peer inside its mouth (not recommended) or dig up all the space around it to see if its stomach extends below the surface (also not recommended)

The interior shots in the top left could work well as either a 'subterranean stomachtype' or the 'magically compressed' type;  they both look fairly similar ^^
