As a Great Jaggi, most other monsters higher up in the threat chain tend to simply ignore you, or abuse you, or take things from you. Rathalos and Lagiacrus had frequently caused troubles for this particular G.Jaggi and his pack, and while the two were bickering over something (And thus ignoring him) he decided to indulge in a little payback by devouring the two. One of the benefits of being a lowly monster: You can perform sneak attacks like this!

He's getting a bit of a stomachache from the large meal and rathalos's poison (As well as lagiacrus charging up in there) but getting back at the two made it totally worth it.
