Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 8, 2024) (Patreon)
Content
Well, here we are - already at the eighth week of 2024! The Digital Foundry #content meeting occurred as usual this morning at 9:30am, and I'm happy to share with you the minutes of the occasion. That's enough preamble, so let's get cut straight to the meat!
* Rich (ie me) has completed an interesting look at the Radeon RX 6700 - which in specs terms is very, very similar to the PlayStation 5. But just how close is it? And what about the 2070 Super we use in Alex's videos? And what about RTX 3060 and 4060? That video is complete and is on early access right now to premium tiers. More admin horror awaits, as does a slew of handhelds that need reviewing - alongside the PS5 Slim, of course. Sorry for the delays on this.
* John probably won't be handling Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (more to share on this come embargo day) but is working on other embargoed content you'll see later in the week that we're really excited about!
* Oliver is likely to be picking up the baton on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but he's also working on original content - a look at ray tracing on Steam Deck, which seems to be gaining pace, along with a look at RT on the more powerful Asus ROG Ally.
* Alex is curious about Skull and Bones and will be looking at that for us this week. Adding some extra spice is that we actually have some high quality ProRes footage of the game taken from E3 2018... and we're kinda curious to see how it has evolved since then. Not to mention, what commonalities and changes have occurred since Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
* Tom has the day off today, but has two projects in production that should both land this week. First of all, we have a Mario vs Donkey Kong Game Boy Advance vs Switch head-to-head he put together with John. Secondly, it's been a bit of a trek for reasons we'll share when the content drops, but the PlayStation Cloud piece is on track - and it'll contain game, image quality and latency analysis stacked up against xCloud too. This investigation has thrown up some interesting surprises we're looking forward to sharing.
* Will continues to work behind the scenes on revamping our guides content on Eurogamer, and liaising with production to make the next wave of 'merch' arrive soon. We'll share more details on that as soon as we can. And his white PC build should finally drop this week!
As usual, do let us know of anything we should be taking a look at, or suggesting ideas for original content along the lines of Oliver's Steam Deck RT concept or Alex's recent analysis of RTX HDR and the DLSSG to FSR3 mod.
Hope you have a great week!
