Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 7, 2024) (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, it's Rich here with your customary update on what's happening here at Digital Foundry in the wake of our Monday morning #content meeting. I'm not going to lie - it's certainly been a bit of a fallow period recently, but we're going to keep on motoring and perhaps cover fewer of the games people seem to have little interest in and instead shift to more original concepts.
Still, it turns out we're pretty stacked with stuff to be getting on with, so let's get straight to it.
* Oliver has just finished his video on Granblue Fantasy: Relink, I reviewed it this morning and it's certainly a striking-looking game. Expect early access on premium tiers shortly. Oliver will also be tackling our Helldivers 2 review.
* John has self-selected himself to tackle the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth content when the time is right, but as of right now, his emphasis is on the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remaster collection, which we aim to have with you on launch day.
* Tom is finishing up his look at PlayStation and Xbox cloud streaming solutions, which is throwing up some interesting data! Beyond that, he'll be joining John to take a look at Mario vs Donkey Kong and may well end up looking at Skull and Bones for us.
* Alex will be taking a look at the RTX HDR update from Nvidia and more pertinently, the mod that allows it to work on any game. He's also interested in taking a look at the next update to Starfield.
* Rich (ie me) will be delivering the RX 6700 vs PS5 GPU piece I talked about last week. It will be quicker to deliver than anything else I have in the pipeline, which includes the Lenovo Legion Go and PS5 Slim reviews.
* Will is just back from Poland having been a guest of Acer for the CS:GO 2 esports tournament last weekend, so check out some of the coverage he's delivered on Eurogamer for that. His all-white PC build will be revealed this week!
The big question is when we should expect to see Microsoft's eagerly anticipated 'business update'. My guess would be later in the week, which would fit in nicely with our filming schedule for DF Direct Weekly #150, which I'm sure is a key consideration for Microsoft! Either way, we'll be responding to that as soon as we can.
We've also seen the stuff this morning about Windows 11's AI upscaling via CPUs with integrated NPUs. We'll look into it. Do let us know more about anything and everything you'd like to see on the channel, but in the meantime, have a great week.
