Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 3, 2024) (Patreon)
Content
Hello and welcome to your weekly update on what's happening here at Digital Foundry. The #content meeting kicked off as usual at 9:30am GMT and all hands were present! Lots going on this week and yes - we can finally talk The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered!
Before we go on, we've decided to remove the Capcom DRM talk from the last edition of DF Direct Weekly. We're looking to find out more, but contrary to some reports, this is not new behaviour from Capcom and some of the other claims being made require independent verification. Once we have a better understanding of what's going on, we'll return to comment on it with a more informed standpoint. With that out of the way, let's crack on with the #content update.
* Oliver is handling our coverage of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for the review embargo this week and after that, will be returning to his project that looks at the unofficial Steam Deck 1200p display upgrade, stacked up against Steam Deck OLED and the OG LCD screen.
* Rich (ie me) will be delivering the review of the RTX 4070 Super. The text version of the review is likely to be appearing on embargo with the video review arriving a day later.
* Tom has finally replaced his decrepit Threadripper 1950X editing station with a 12900K upgrade! After transitioning across to the new system, he's going to be taking a look at the cloud streaming system now available for top-tier PlayStation Plus subscribers. I took a look at this very briefly and was impressed by the image quality but not impressed by the latency.
* Alex is finishing his Max Payne retro time capsule video (retro tier supporters get it early) and after that, embarks on his grand FSR3 project focusing on Avatar, DLSS 3 comparisions from matched inputs and the DLSS3 to FSR3 mod.
* John is so enamoured with Ys X: Nordics that he's decided to do a deeper review on it. He's also lined up to tackle our Tekken 8 review coverage.
That's what we've got lined up. We'll be all over Microsoft's Developer(underscore)Direct, but expect that to form the basis of DF Direct Weekly #146, which we'll be filming on Friday. If you have any #content tips or requests, do make use of the invitingly blank comments box below - but in the meantime, have a great week!
