Hi there everyone, it's Thursday, which means that there's a general panic in play as we attempt to get our crap together for filming DF Direct Weekly #139 tomorrow morning. It's fair to say that there's been a bit of a void in news over the last week, but nevertheless we shall be picking up the story on The Last of Us 2 Remastered (which leaked after filming last week), and we'll also be spending some time with Cyberpunk 2077. We'll be talking about the Ultimate Edition and Alex will be sharing his experience of running DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction in the game using the Alan Wake .DLL for allegedly improved visuals!

Beyond that, Alex will also be talking about the latest Star Citizen engine enhancements and there may well be some kind of live unboxing of the PS5 Slim, which literally turned up at my house this morning (I imported from Canada and it's taken about a week to get here). John's also present for this week's Direct and perhaps we could tempt him into talking about the ker-azy Pimax Crystal VR headset he's been looking at - there should be a review posting on Eurogamer today.

In other news, we'll be pimping the new DF 'merch' store, which should be opening tomorrow. We'll have the almost mythic DF Fighters shirt for sale along with basic logo-based 'apparel' but we're fully looking to deploy some more community-focused shirts in due course.

Still, now's the time for you to submit any and all topic suggestions you might have for the show, along with the requisite call for questions for inclusion in the Supporter Q+A section. There's an empty box below ready for your valued input!

Hey DF team! Do you have any idea how Remedy is able to have 30 fps FMVs during Alan Wake 2 gameplay, which may have a variable fps, without any noticeable stutter or pacing issues? I didn't notice any issues with the FMVs while playing with a 40 fps frame cap.

OK, so I am the first to dunk on Unreal Engine after the car crash it has made of PC gaming these last few years, but have you seen some of the nice destruction game elements in UE5 lately? (The Finals, Robocop) I really hope things like this make a comeback (Red Faction: Guerrilla anyone?) as ever prettier lighting just wont do it alone. Physics interaction is far more meaningful at pulling you into a world. Can you think of other recent games that are doing this? Teardown is an obvious example given DF's recent coverage.
