Coming This Week on Digital Foundry (Week 3, 2023) (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, Rich here with an update a little later than usual as I had to rush out directly after today's #content meeting for... another meeting! But yes, our weekly gathering did happen and I'm happy to share with you the outcome of the proceedings, so let's get going:
* Rich (ie me) has a bit of a busy week dealing with DF admin, including the quarterly board meeting on Thursday, but I hope to have some #content for you. The bad news is that my Ayaneo 2 has a hardware fault that sees the system crash whenever I use the preferred 22W power mode. However, I'm considering a Stadia eulogy, a GeForce Now 4080 video or maybe some hybrid of the two.
* John is our designated content creator for Forspoken/Sporfoken and will be diving into that as soon as possible, but don't expect that one this week. After that, so even further beyond that, we're hoping to get him on the Dead Space Remake.
* Alex is working on the next PC time capsule - Half-Life 2 on PC, OG Xbox and PlayStation 3 - and may well even consider bagging another time capsule in the form of Far Cry 3. He's going to be dealing with Forspoken/Sporfoken but the way things are looking, this will be post-launch coverage.
* Tom is going to be taking a look at Monster Hunter Rise on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. He's also got a Dual Sense Edge controller in the post from Sony so hopefully that'll arrive soon.
* Oliver is handing in a detailed video on how well the Steam Deck fares with the most challenging of the Q4 2022 games, and after that, will be doing a deep dive into ray tracing on... Xbox Series S! This one was actually a supporter request - and it's a good one.
* Will is on holiday this week!
DF Retro tier supporters? The long delayed Retro Q+A is finally done and will be delivered to you soon, while we're hoping to see the similarly long-awaited DF After Dark podcast for premium/retro backers.
This is going to be something of a weird week since we're kinda in limbo awaiting for a bunch of code, and we may well need to switch stuff about for embargo reasons. Expect a few gaps in the line-up this week but a big bunch of stuff happening next week.
Anything you think we should be taking a look at? Do let me know 'in the comments below' as they say...
