Hi everyone, it's Rich here and today we're posting a video giving up an update on what we've achieved in the 18 months or so since we relaunched our Patreon as the Digital Foundry Supporter Program - and outlining our plans for where we go next.

Of course, the tier structure should be pretty clear to backers - the base tier offers downloads, early access to DF Direct Weekly, the chance to help shape the show plus our weekly update on what the staff are up to. Premium tier? Bonus materials, early access to complete, non-embargoed videos, an occasional DF After Dark podcast and behind-the-scenes content. Retro tier? You're helping to fund John Linneman's amazing work, plus there's a wealth of Patreon-exclusive content include Retro Q+A and Retro Pickups shows.

I just wanted to thank everyone for helping to contribute in making DF what it is. The Supporter Program has been successful, has made more DF Retro possible, has brought our supporters closer to the team than ever before via Discord and has delivered a vast array of early access content opportunities to premium/retro supporters.

It's also made life better for us because we've had the funding to bring on Oliver Mackenzie as a contributor, meaning we can deliver the same amount of videos as before, but reducing the stress/overtime on staff members to keep up with the onslaught of releases. This means a happier team, more time spent on content and ultimately better videos - so once again, thank you.

The video also outlines our plans for the future, including where we want to go on PC. We think the PC hardware press - especially on YouTube - is the best it's even been, but we also think there's massive under-representation for the gameplay experience and a bizarre silence from the major players on how bad some PC ports are these days. We want to do more on PC, we want to make games better via construction criticism and we want to celebrate the best the platform has to offer. So please consider continuing to support us and possibly even considering moving up a tier, if you want to! To that end, I'll shortly be sending out Patreon DMs (which should also be emailed?) to specific tiers today showing some of the advantages/content available.

Thanks again for your support - and as the year draws to a close, we can't wait to do more and do better in 2023.

I just joined as well. I was able to download the most recent fortnite video and when I played it it was not in HDR. I have seen a few posts about HDR in videos, anybody know the current ploicy?

The main reason why I watch digital foundry is because of John's and Alex's videos. Because of the df direct weekly, I feel I know their likes and dislikes and I can frame my understanding of their review based on their personalities. John goes crazy for sonic and motion blur; Alex loses it over ray traced GI. What I hope for whomever you pick up is that this person has just as strong a personality and a love for gaming/tech as John and Alex do.

It's been a pleasure being on the supporter program since day 1. Alex's PC optimised settings are a bloody life saver, things like setting volumetric lighting to medium in resident evil village to save a tonne of fps, something i re-enjoyed for the dlc. Looking forward to more pc content as described!
